"Snail Mail" is strongly encouraged! Campers love to have their name called to receive mail at meal times. Be sure to put the camper's name on the envelope and send it early so that it arrives before we leave from camp on Friday.
Monday Morning
Students are asked to arrive between 8:20 - 8:35, no earlier. Students, their luggage, and their bedroll will be dropped off in the front parking lot of the elementary school, close to the long trailer. Staff and counselors will serve as directors for camp traffic. After loading the luggage and bedrolls on to the trailer, the students will then enter the school through the front doors and report to the cafeteria. Be sure to have your lunch with you. Those with medication should see the nurse before entering the school. She'll be located just outside the front doors. Students will remain in the cafeteria patiently until they load the busses at the back of the school, which will be around 9:30.
Radio Reports
One resource available for parents to check on how things are going at camp are the radio reports, which are on WNDH radio, 103.1 on your FM dial. The reports will be taped around 10:00 AM each day and then aired over the noon hour on Monday through Friday. A link to WNDH's website is listed to the right.
Thursday
Parent's Night
Parents are encouraged to visit camp on Thursday night from 6:30 - 8:30. Please do not arrive early, as students will be active right up until 6:30. The first 45 minutes will be informal, as your child will have a chance to show you around the camp facilities. At 7:15 we will begin to gather for a campfire program with various songs, skits, and awards. We realize the temptation is great, but we ask that you PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY FOOD OR DRINK FOR YOUR CHILD. Also, please do not ask to take your child home Thursday evening. We have very important closing activities on Thursday night and Friday designed to bring our week of camp to a meaningful conclusion. Parents are strongly encouraged to take home as much of their child's stuff as possible on Thursday, keeping in mind to leave the necessary gear needed for Thursday night and Friday. Finally, we would ask that you PLEASE leave on time (8:35), as we have an activity scheduled to begin at 8:45.
Friday Afternoon
On Friday, the students will arrive back home at 2:15. The truck will be unloading in the back of the front parking lot at the elementary school. Luggage and bedrools will be put on piles depending on the child's cabin color and number.
The dress code is relaxed during the week at camp. Any decent apparel is allowed, including sweats and/or wind pants. Shorts are permitted, but are not to be worn to classes. Use common sense. If staff or counselors find your clothing inappropriate, they will ask you to change. Capri's are allowed to class.
