Purpose and Mission of Napoleon 6th Grade Outdoor Education
Outdoor education gives students and teachers an opportunity to study and examine, first hand, many things that could only be talked about in the regular classroom. We will call the outdoors our "laboratory" where we will observe many fascinating things as they happen, in a setting that will not easily be forgotten. In our laboratory, we will study plants, soils, trees, flowers, birds, animals, and insects. Students will also have the opportunity to explore fishing, canoeing, arts & crafts, zipline, archery, ropes course, drama, team building exercises, and explore a wetlands area. The students, counselors, and teachers will have the chance to better understand each other from their working relationship at camp. Education is put first in Napoleon Outdoor Education Program!
The mission of the Napoleon 6th Grade Outdoor Education Program is to extend a learning laboratory that enables youth to develop positive values, skills, leadership, self-esteem, responsibility, and cooperation by practicing community living and environmental stewardship to become capable and contributing members of society.
